What does CCS Map show?

CCS Map is a curated, source-traced view of the European CCS value chain. On one Explorer map it shows five connected layers: point emitters, hubs, terminals, storage sites and CCS/CCUS projects, so you can follow CO₂ from source to storage.

Open any node, an emitter, hub, terminal, storage site or project, for verified attributes such as operator, status, capacity, counterparties and emissions where public. You can filter by country, sector, operator, layer type, project status and storage type, and compare regions and layers side by side. See the CCS Map overview for the full picture.

Where does the CCS Map data come from?

The underlying data is public and authoritative. Emissions come from EU ETS / EUTL, UK ETS and national emissions registries; energy and project data from the IEA, IOGP and the Global CCS Institute. We curate, link and present it rather than reselling registry data.

The value is in the assembly: consistent IDs across registries, geocoding, operator and cluster linkage, full value-chain joining, filtering and curated presentation. Every record is source-traced. Facilities are geocoded and joined to the hubs, terminals and storage sites around them.

What can I see for free vs paid?

Free access is an account plus the map at cluster level: create an account on the Map site, explore aggregate emitter clusters and preview the example facility, with verified detail and the five layers locked. A paid plan unlocks full per-node insight across Europe.

The path is intentionally simple: create an account, explore the map, then subscribe to unlock the data when it makes sense for your team. Plans and pricing are shown on the Map site.

How much does CCS Map cost?

Start free with an account and the map at cluster level. Europe – Emitter is 19 EUR per month (190 EUR per year) and unlocks every CO₂ emitter in Europe in full detail. Europe – Complete is 29 EUR per month (290 EUR per year) and adds the four infrastructure layers and cross-filtered analysis across all five. Annual billing includes two months free; change or cancel anytime.

You can start free, explore the map, and subscribe when ready. Plans and pricing are shown on the Map site. For enterprise needs, email post@frontcarbon.com.

How many emitters and countries does CCS Map cover?

CCS Map covers 31 countries, EU member states plus the UK, Norway and surrounding North Sea geography, with 7,500+ active point emitters (including 2,800+ above 25,000 t CO₂/year), plus hubs, terminals, storage sites and CCS/CCUS projects joined across the value chain.

Coverage is pan-European, with focused depth where the first CCS value chains are taking shape: Norway, the UK and the Netherlands, plus the wider Nordic and North Sea region. All five value-chain layers are joined and queryable together.

How is the data verified?

Every record is source-traced back to public authoritative registries and datasets. We cross-reference emitters to operator and parent company, geocode facilities, link clusters and ownership structures, and join each layer to the others so attributes can be checked against their source.

Per-node attributes, operator, status, capacity, counterparties and emissions, are shown where public. We do not resell registry data: we curate, link and present it, keeping the provenance of each record traceable.
